距1992年3月26日深圳特区报刊登长篇通讯《东方风来满眼春——邓小平同志在深圳纪实》，已过去三十多年了。中国改革开放总设计师邓小平在深圳的两次视察，犹如阵阵东风，驱散了思想的迷雾，让整座城市焕发出无限生机与活力。

More than 30 years have passed since March 26, 1992, when Shenzhen Special Zone Daily published a long feature story “The Vigor of Spring Greets the Eyes as the East Wind Comes – Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s Shenzhen Tour.” The chief architect of China’s reform and opening up, Deng Xiaoping inspected Shenzhen twice and his inspections were like a gust of east wind, dispelling the fog of thought, so that the whole city has been filled with infinite vitality.

20世纪80年代，经济特区曾引发国内外强烈关注，甚至是争论、质疑。各种非议给艰苦创业的特区建设者带来巨大压力。在没有任何经验可供借鉴的情况下，经济特区建设如何？小平同志想来看看。

In the 1980s, the construction of special economic zones aroused intense attention, even controversies and doubts at home and abroad. These criticisms brought great pressure to the builders of special economic zones. Deng wanted to come and assess the construction progress of the special economic zones.

1984年1月24日，邓小平首次来深圳经济特区视察，先后参观了国际商业大厦、中航技工贸中心、渔民村、上步工业区、蛇口工业区和明华轮等地。在亲眼目睹了深圳的发展变化后，在2月1日的除夕夜，小平同志在广州为深圳经济特区欣然写下题词：“深圳的发展和经验证明，我们建立经济特区的政策是正确的”。大年初一，深圳人通过报纸、电视收到了这份“新春寄语”。

On January 24, 1984, Deng came to the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone for the first time and he successively visited the International Commercial Building, China National Aero-Technology Industry and Trade Center, Yumin Village, Shangbu Industrial Zone, Shekou Industrial Zone and  Minghua cruise ship. After witnessing the development and changes in Shenzhen, on February 1, Deng gladly wrote an inscription for the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in Guangzhou: “The development and experiences of Shenzhen have proven that our policy of establishing special economic zones is correct. ” 

时间一晃，八年过去了。1992年1月18日至2月21日，邓小平在改革开放的关键时期南下武昌、深圳、珠海和上海等地，发表了一系列重要谈话（即“南方谈话”）。1月19日，是邓小平在深圳视察的第一天，他乘车观光深圳市容，看到8年前仍是水田、鱼塘、低矮房舍的地方，已变得道路纵横交错，高楼耸入云端，现代化的景象让他对特区信心倍增。随后几日，邓小平到深圳火车站、国贸大厦、深圳先科激光公司、仙湖植物园等地进行参观游览，与随行人员亲切交谈，内容既涉及到经济发展、基本路线、共同富裕等重要问题，也不时穿插几句幽默话语。在深圳的第四天，即1月22日下午3时10分，邓小平与省市负责人作出重要谈话，强调了改革开放要大胆地试和闯，深圳的重要经验就是敢闯等内容。1月23日，是邓小平在深圳视察的最后一天，他再次谈到经济建设“要搞快一点”，这是对深圳的殷切期望和嘱托。

Time flied and eight years passed. From January 18 to February 21, 1992, Deng made inspection tours to Wuchang, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shanghai, and other cities and delivered a series of important speeches (Deng Xiaoping’s Talks in the South). January 19 was the first day of Deng’s tour in Shenzhen. He took a bus tour to witness the remarkable changes of the city and his confidence multiplied. In the next few days, Deng visited Shenzhen Railway Station, Shenzhen International Trade Center Building, Shenzhen Shinco Laser Company, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and other places. He spoke about economic development, basic lines, common prosperity and other important questions during his tour. On his fourth day in Shenzhen, at 3:10 p.m., January 22, Deng further emphasized that carrying out reform and opening up means to be bold to make experiments and breakthroughs, which is also Shenzhen’s important experience. On January 23, which was the last day of Deng’s inspection in Shenzhen, he again pointed out that the economic construction of Shenzhen should “go faster,” which was also his expectation for the city.

邓小平在深圳的视察意义非凡，是对特区发展的推进和鼓劲，深圳的改革进一步向纵深发展，创造了一个又一个发展奇迹。未来，“春天的故事”将在深圳演绎得更加精彩。

Deng's inspection tour to Shenzhen is of great significance, as it further promoted and encouraged its development. Shenzhen’s reform was further deepened, creating one miracle after another. In the future, the “story of spring” will be even more spectacular.
