Supermoon graces the sky

A supermoon rises on the night of a lunar eclipse in Futian District, Shenzhen, yesterday, when the first lunar eclipse of 2021 happened. It was an especially super lunar event as it was a supermoon, a lunar eclipse and a rusty blood moon all at once. It was the first total lunar eclipse since January 2019. This supermoon was the closest to Earth in 2021, according to EarthSky. It took the moon over three hours to cross Earth’s shadow, but the actual lunar eclipse lasted under 15 minutes.
