Citizens will soon have the opportunity to experience aerial sightseeing in Bao'an as the district launched its urban air mobility operation demonstration center Tuesday.

The center is the country's first facility of its kind, adhering to standardized construction practices, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported. It will offer a range of flightseeing products in the new year.

The offerings will encompass sightseeing, sci-tech experiences, educational initiatives, and charitable promotions, aiming to elevate the district's cultural tourism services and enhance its influence in the drone industry, according to the report.

During the launch ceremony Tuesday, Shenzhen Minglan Low-altitude Economic Industry Service Co. Ltd. entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with EHang, a global leader in urban air mobility technology.

Also at the ceremony, a pilotless passenger-carrying eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft designed by EHang conducted a test flight at the center, soaring over the Bay Glory Ferris wheel before making a smooth landing.

The collaboration between Shenzhen Minglan and EHang extends beyond the ceremonial signing, as the two companies commit to creating more demonstration operations for the low-altitude economy and support the city's establishment of a comprehensive low-altitude economic ecosystem.

The demonstration center, located in Xin'an Subdistrict, covers a floor area of 4,571.7 square meters.

The entire construction, including the development of landing pads, the hangar, the dispatch center, the waiting area, and a tourist service center, along with essential facilities, was completed in just four months.
