According to statistics, 6,547 expats from 100 countries live in Zhaoshang Subdistrict, in which 550 foreign-invested companies are set up. Under such an environment, Zhaoshang Subdistrict has implemented the “TOPIC” five-path international development strategy with the aim of building a model community for international interaction.
As thefirst residential area of expats since the city’s reform and opening up, Zhaoshang Subdistrict, based on its comprehensive advantages of fundamental infrastructures, gives full play to its foreign-related management service platforms such as the Nanshan International Cultural Exchanges & Service Center, Shekou Net Valley Management and the Service Center for Expats and Yanshan Community Expats Service Center. The idea of “TOPIC,” namely its five-in-one international talent community construction, refers to the building of an international talent subdistrict that is livable and suitable for business from the aspects of talent services, organization structure, platform construction, working mechanisms and community integration.
Zhaoshang subdistrict highlights cultural confidence, exchange and integration. A series of activities such as Chinese-style exhibitions, traditional festival carnivals, intangible cultural heritage classes as well as the “Investment Story,” the Belt and Road Initiative Carnival, and the International Talents’ Race have been held in Zhaoshang Subdistrict.
