City to build demonstration area for nature education
Shenzhen will build a nature education innovation demonstration area in the Pearl River Delta, following a decision listed in Guangdong Province’s 14th Five-Year Plan for nature education development, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
The plan reportedly targets Guangdong’s goal to basically achieve forestry modernization by 2035. The plan also states that by 2025, Guangdong aims to identify 100 nature education bases, 20 high-quality nature education demonstration bases, 150 nature education paths and 300 nature education zones (venues).
Over the years, Shenzhen has attached great importance to nature education development.
Shenzhen built the country’s first nature school in 2014.
In 2017, Shenzhen built the first batch of 13 nature education centers. Moreover, over 40 companies and institutions in the city formed a nature education alliance, hosting events such as nature education lectures and bird-watching activities.
