The 128-kilometer high-speed rail between downtown Shenzhen and the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone will have six stations including Xili, Luohu North and Pingshan stations in Shenzhen, Huizhou South and Huidong stations in Huizhou and Shenshan Station in the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, according to an environment report on construction of the rail released by Guangzhou Railway Group Corp. on Thursday.

Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail starts from Xili Station in Nanshan District and ends at Chishi Station in Shenshan. It will be connected with Guangzhou-Shanwei Railway at Chishi Station and become part of the future coastal high-speed rail corridor.

The Chishi Station will be renamed into Shenshan Station after it is connected with Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail.

The speed of the Shenzhen-Shenshan high-speed rail line between Xili Station and Luohu North Station is designed at 250 kilometers per hour, and the rest of the line is designed at 350 kilometers per hour, the report showed.

The rail project also includes some supporting and auxiliary projects, including a link between Xili and Shenzhen North stations, a link between Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail and Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway, and a link between Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail and Guangzhou-Shanwei Railway, the report said.

Upon completion in 2025, the trip between Shenzhen and the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone will be cut down to 30 minutes.

Guangdong will invest 5.9 trillion yuan (US$871.8 billion) into 1,230 key projects involving 700 billion yuan this year, according to the key project construction plan released by the Guangdong government earlier this year.

The projects also include construction of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen section of Shenzhen-Maoming High-speed Rail, Xili Transport Hub, the Jiangmen-Pearl River Delta Airport Hub section of Shenzhen-Nanning High-speed Rail, the third runway of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, and Shenzhen Belt and Road Data Valley.
