Tian Fu, member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC and director of the Authority of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area, and Du Peng, director of Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority, brought herbal tea and other beverages to the workers at the construction site of the Qianhai international conference center to express their gratitude to the workers for their contributions to the development of Qianhai.

After inspecting the construction site, Tian Fu, Du Peng and other Qianhai officials were briefed on the project regarding its exterior, interior and landscaping designs by the project’s design company and the construction contractor at a meeting.

Representatives of the project introduced the design concept, the application of high technology and the project's timeline. They also put forward other suggestions and sought increased government support.

Tian Fu encouraged the contractor and the design company to conduct timely communications with the property owner of the Qianhai international conference center, saying that effective communication among the three parties will be crucial in smoothly carrying out the project.

Tian Fu and Du Peng emphasized that energy-efficient technologies must be applied at the conference center, which will become one of Qianhai's landmarks upon completion.

Tian Fu stressed that the conference center should be able to showcase its green technology features to local residents and the world.

Du Peng approved of the overall design of the conference center. However, he suggested that the design company and the project contractor incorporate traditional culture, especially Lingnan cultural elements, in the design of the modern structure. Du Peng advised that a panel of experts on Lingnan culture be engaged to put forward suggestions.

The construction of the Qianhai international conference center is scheduled to be completed on May 31 next year and the center is expected to be put into use on Aug. 26 next year.
