Italian designers Aldo Cibic and Paola Trapani will give talks on design at Block 16 of Shenzhen High-Tech Park on Saturday.

Cibic’s topic is “Aesthetics of Vitality” and Trapani’s title is “Designing Co-design: Addressing Five Critical Areas to Increase the Experience of Participants and Facilitator in a Co-design Session.” Both of the speakers now teach at Tongji University in Shanghai.

Aldo Cibic

Cibic has been included by the architecture magazine Domus in the guide to the world’s best architects recently. In 2015, he curated the Venice Pavilion at the 56th International Art Exhibition Biennale of Venice, exploring the declinations of the creative process between globalization and territorial roots.

His research activity in the field of social innovation design has developed through teaching in various schools of design and architecture. These research projects fostered a dynamic relationship between people and space and offered a new mode of designing places based on social interactions and revolving around a central theme: the interpretation of sustainability.

Paola Trapani

Trapani has an international background and experience in Europe, China, New Zealand and the United States. Her research argues that co-design among all relevant parties could provide innovative methods to solve problems. And problem-setting techniques can inspire the formulation of open-ended questions and set the most appropriate frame of reference.
