Under the current laws and regulations of China, foreign enterprises engaging in the following production and business activities shall apply for registration:
1. Exploration and development of petroleum and other mineral resources on land or in marine areas;
2. Engineering contracting, including construction, decoration of buildings and civil engineering, or installation of pipelines, lines, and equipment;
3. Contracting or accepting entrusted management of foreign-invested enterprises;
4. Establishment of branches by foreign banks in China;
5. Other production and business activities permitted by the state.
