Updates on novel coronavirus cases in Shenzhen (Feb. 2)

Shenzhen has confirmed another 26 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection cases on Feb. 1, adding the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 196, according to the latest figures released by the Health Commission of Shenzhen Municipality.

Of the confirmed cases, 91 are male and 105 are female.

According to the Commission, 165 of the patients have a history of traveling to Hubei Province, 6 are from other provinces, 22 were reported to have had close contact with the patients, and 3 are infected in local communities.

In terms of district distribution, 46 cases were reported in Nanshan District, 41 in Longgang District, 36 in Futian District, 24 in Longhua District, 22 in Bao'an District, 11 in Luohu District, 5 in Pingshan District, 5 in Guangming District, 3 in Yantian District, and 2 in Dapeng New District. There is also one case detected upon entry to the city (from the airport, bus stations, ferry terminals, checkpoints and roadblocks etc.).

Currently, 12 patients are in critical condition, 20 in severe condition and 5 have been discharged from hospital. There is no death reported so far.

All 191 patients are being treated at Shenzhen No. 3 People's Hospital. 569 people in close contact with the patients are under medical observation.
