During the summer railway transport season from July 1 to August 31, Shenzhen’s rail network is expected to see approximately 18.737 million passenger trips. This figure represents a year-on-year increase of more than 3%, equating to over 560,000 additional passenger trips, according to Shenzhen railway authorities.
A new train schedule will be implemented starting from July 1 to better accommodate passenger demand during the summer season. Seven new pairs of direct trains will be added, connecting Shenzhen with destinations such as Rizhao, Taiyuan, Qidong, and Shanghai’s Songjiang. Additional intercity trains will also be operated between cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to further enhance regional connectivity.
In addition, starting from July 1, the waiting area for Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity trains at Shenzhen Railway Station (Luohu) will be relocated to the long-distance train waiting hall on the second floor. From that date onward, Intercity Trains, long-distance trains, and high-speed rail trains will share a common entrance and waiting area.
