Three hospitals, including Xinhua Hospital, Shenzhen No. 2 Children’s Hospital and Dapeng New Area People’s Hospital, are under construction. Some are expected to be completed as soon as 2023, sznews.com reported Wednesday.
Both Xinhua Hospital and Shenzhen No. 2 Children’s Hospital are located in Longhua District. Xinhua Hospital is rated as a Grade 3A hospital – the highest of China’s three-tier grading system for public hospitals, and is jointly built by Peking University and the city government.
Upon completion, the hospital will provide 2,500 beds and will be operated and managed by the Shenzhen Medical Department of Peking University.
Shenzhen No. 2 Children’s Hospital, operated by Shenzhen Children’s Hospital, is located a few blocks away from Xinhua Hospital. It will provide 1,500 hospital beds upon completion.
“The No. 2 Children’s Hospital will feature a wide array of entertainment facilities and classrooms for hospitalized children to learn and play. The hospital will invite teachers to provide lessons to children,” the design team of the hospital explained.
Dapeng New Area People’s Hospital, located in the Kuichong Subdistrict of Dapeng in the east of Shenzhen, is expected to be completed in the next few years. The hospital is a municipal tertiary hospital with a floor area of nearly 420,000 square meters.
According to the city’s public works bureau, the accelerated construction of the municipal tertiary hospital project is inseparable from the mature application of new technologies, such as building information modeling (BIM) and BeiDou cloud monitoring system.
