The CIVITAS–Tech Hybrid AI Thailand Sovereign Technology Industrial Park project was launched in Shenzhen in September, with former Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat attending the launching ceremony.

Co-hosted by Shenzhen-based Civitas Holdings Limited and Thailand's Tech Hybrid AI Company, the event aimed to deepen exchanges on AI, sovereign technology, industrial in vestment and cross-border cooperation.

During the event, the CIVITAS–Tech Hybrid AI Thailand Industrial Sovereign Technology Investment Promotion Center was unveiled. As a China-Thailand joint platform, it will offer policy matching, local resource matching, industrial planning and one-stop support for cross-border projects, becoming a key hub for Chinese firms entering Thailand and other ASEAN countries.

At the exhibition, Suthee Kositwongsakul, Secretary-General of the National Federation of Thai Textile Industries, tried a robot dog from Zhishen Xinchuang (Shenzhen), praising China's AI. He said Thailand's textile industry needs intelligent upgrading and hoped such products would reach Thailand soon.

Chen Weixiong, General Manager of Tech Hybrid AI, said the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) firms involved are not simply exporting products but seeking long-term local R&D, talent cultivation and joint industrial chain development. The project follows a "Thailand-led, open collaboration and long-term win-win" approach.

Wang Qing, Chairman of Civitas Holdings Limited, said the group will use nearly 20 years of GBA experience to provide park planning, operations and resources, and localize digital management systems for the Bangkok project. "We export a proven industrial operation system and cross-border coordination mechanism," he said, adding that Chinese tech firms going global will have support.

Somchai Wongsawat said the project should become a benchmark for China-Thailand sci-tech cooperation, drive Thailand's industrial upgrading, build an ASEAN-oriented innovation hub and let the people of both countries share the dividends of the digital era.
