Shenzhen is about to enter a key political season with the upcoming annual meetings of its political advisors and lawmakers, collectively known as the “two sessions” — a highlight of the city’s political calendar. The city’s political advisory body will convene Feb. 8, followed by the legislative session opening Feb. 9. Both meetings will last three days. A major focus will be the annual growth target for the coming year, which is expected to be announced in the government work report. The report will also outline the city’s key development priorities for the year ahead.
