Located in Shangmugu Community, Pinghu Subdistrict, south of Fuan West Road, west of Pingji Boulevard, and north of Jihe Expressway, Pinghu Ecological Park is a green forest area between Gankeng Reservoir and Miaokeng Reservoir. Covering an area of about 3,500 mu (233.3 hectares), the park belongs to the Gankeng Wetland Reservoir area, and it features beautiful and picturesque scenery, making it a great destination for nearby residents.
Flower Sea: The mountain of yellow golden trumpet trees (Handroanthus chrysanthus) in full bloom every spring is a sight to behold from the Eco-park DCC Cultural and Creative Park near the Autumn Moon Plaza entrance. The flowers are like a "golden armor" hanging all around, which are vivid, striking, and dramatic, resembling a yellow ribbon weaved through silk. The orchid trees (Bauhinia variegata) are an additional ornamental bauhinia that the park has planted in recent years. The flowers have pink or lavender scented petals, and these two plants form a sea of brilliant and luxurious flowers.
Autumn Moon Square: The square's revolutionary heroes sculpture wall creates a deep crimson atmosphere which draws attention to the Party building theme and encourages visitors to linger in the beautifully designed garden, reflecting on the sacrifices and efforts the revolutionary heroes have made to create the current happy lives for people.
Viewing Pond: The Viewing Pond, which has pure water, fish and shrimp, gulls and birds, is situated around 1.5 kilometers from the park’s entrance close to the DCC Cultural and Creative Park. Water lilies are peacefully floating in the water, while the grasses along the bank are lush. A wooden plank walkway encircles the pond, where guests can stroll along to take in invigorating views of the lake and mountains.
Miaokeng and Gankeng reservoirs: Miaokeng and Gankeng reservoirs are important drinking water sources under the jurisdiction of Pinghu Subdistrict. The two reservoirs have been strictly protected by the government, where fishing is prohibited; free from pollution, they are like two emeralds amidst the mountain in the ecological park.
Reed Catkins Wetland: About 1.5 kilometers from Gankeng Town, in the park’s hinterland, is where you'll find the Reed Catkins Wetland. The reeds are lush, dense, and green and their leaves and branches grow straight upward; they hardly ever slant out the sides, resembling soldiers in a square.
