In 2024, the GDP of Bao'an District was more than RMB 530 billion. In Bao'an, industrial enterprises above designated size produce a gross output value of RMB 1.05 trillion. There are 7,397 national high-tech enterprises in Bao'an, ranking first among China's districts and counties for 8 consecutive years. There are also 18 national high-tech companies per km2 and national Specialized and Sophisticated SMEs, ranking third across China. Besides, there are 81 listed companies in Bao'an with a total of land in the district. There are also 277 market value of over RMB 1 trillion. Bao'an was ranked fourth in both the top 100 investment competitiveness districts in 2024 and the top 100 industrial districts and counties across China. It is the permanent place where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) SME Forum is held and the only district in China evaluated as the "Annual Business Environment District".

Taking Qianhai Expansion and the release of the Overall Development Plan for the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone as an opportunity, Bao'an will integrate the policy advantages of Qianhai with the resource endowment of Bao'an to release the strategic effect of Qianhai Expansion, jointly implement a 15% preferential income tax policy for high-end talents and qualifying enterprises, gain closer cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao, and further expand its openness.
前海扩区前 14.92 平方公里,扩区后120.56 平方公里,宝安 82.75 平方公里城区 ( 宝安中心区、空铁门户区、会展海洋城 ) 纳入前海合作区实施范围。宝安的 1/5 是前海,前海的 2/3 是宝安。
