Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport is China’s first airport built primarily through local investment and officially opened for domestic flights in October, 1991. In February, 1992, it was approved by the State Council to open for international flights. Since November 12, 2015, the airport has operated on a 24-hour customs clearance schedule.
Covering an area of 450,000 square meters, Terminal 3 (T3) was officially put into service on November 28, 2013. Its designed annual capacity of clearance is 45 million times for passenger (including 36 million times for domestic passengers and 9 million times for international passengers).
Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport is equipped with one of China’s most advanced air cargo terminals and cargo aprons, featuring a modern system for handling bulk and containerized goods and an automated system for the storage and retrieval of cargo.
Fuyong Wharf, which complements the airport’s operations, includes three 1,000-ton multi-purpose berths and four 500-ton passenger berths.
