Wenjindu Port is located in Huangbei Subdistrict, Luohu District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. It is next to the Liantang Port in the east, connected with Luohu Port in the west, leaning Yanhe South Road in the north, and facing Shenzhen River in the south, marking the terminus of National Highway G107. In 1978, Wenjindu Port was approved by the State Council of China to open to the outside world, and one of the only two land checkpoints in Shenzhen before China’s reform and opening-up. It connects to Hong Kong via a road bridge and is a comprehensive passenger and cargo road checkpoint featuring for facilitating the transit of fresh goods to Hong Kong. The passenger inspection facilities at Wenjindu Port underwent renovations in May, 2011 and resumed on August 26, 2013.
The checkpoint sets up 30 vehicle inspection channels for entry and exit, of which 18 are designated for cargo trucks and 12 for small cars and passenger buses. And the number of outbound passenger inspection channels is 36 .
Wenjindu checkpoint operates under the “two inspections at two places” system, with a designed daily clearance capacity of 10,000 times for vehicle and 30,000 times for passenger. Currently, it processes an daily average clearance of over 2,000 times and 4,000 times for vehicle and passenger respectively.
