As summer temperatures climb, Shuangyue Bay in Huizhou is emerging as a popular coastal escape in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Renowned for its soft, pale sand and crystal-clear, tranquil waters, locally known as the "jelly sea" for their translucent, glass-like appearance, the twin-crescent bay offers a refreshing retreat just a two-hour drive from Shenzhen.

The bay takes its name, meaning "Double Moon," from its two adjoining coastlines, which curve inward like crescent moons when viewed from the surrounding hills. A short hike leads to an observation platform offering one of the most photographed coastal views along Guangdong's eastern coast.
