I will be visiting Hong Kong in March next year and would like to make a day trip to Shenzhen. I’m an Australian citizen and I just want to know what the visa requirements are for a one-day visit (arriving in the morning and leaving in the evening).

Public Security Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality: To continuously facilitate personnel exchanges between China and other countries, China has decided to extend the unilateral visa-free policy for Australia and other countries until 24:00 on 31 December 2026. Holders of ordinary Australian passports may enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits or transit, provided their stay does not exceed 30 days.
