Two major high-tech industrial parks opened on February 24 in Nanshan, marking the latest move by the district to advance smart manufacturing. Nanshan made this move after becoming China’s first district-level economy to surpass a GDP of 1 trillion yuan (US$140 billion) in 2025. The Nanshan Smart Manufacturing (Honghualing Base), covering 1 million sqm, focuses on high-end manufacturing. Its first batch of 14 tenants span sectors including robotics, new-energy intelligent connected vehicles, semiconductors and integrated circuits, intelligent terminals, smart sensors, and network and communications. The 1.05-million-sqm Nanshan Smart City is dedicated to cutting-edge technology, such as next-generation information technology, AI, and biomedicine and health industries.
