The 2024 Mountain View Theater Season will be unveiled March 30, featuring a series of classical music concerts by world renowned musicians. This year's theme, "Andante," symbolizes the pace of every musician's artistic journey.
Antje Weithaas plays Bach
One of the most internationally renowned virtuosos, German violinist Antje Weithaas is back to the 2024 Mountain View Theater Season with the opening concerts featuring Bach's "Six Violin Sonatas and Partitas." Weithaas brings her compelling musical intelligence and technical mastery to every detail of the music. Her career has seen her win prestigious awards including the first prize of the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition.

Vitaly Pisarenko piano recital
After winning first prize at the Eighth International Franz Liszt Piano Competition and third prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, pianist Vitaly Pisarenko has been gaining worldwide recognition. In 2023, he was appointed professor of piano at the Royal College of Music, London. In Shenzhen, he will play virtuosic pieces, such as Liszt's "Two Csárdás, S. 225," Schumann's "Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6," Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet — Ten Pieces for Piano, Op. 75" and Ravel's "La Valse."

Arnaud Sussmann violin recital
Winner of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant, French violinist Arnaud Sussmann has distinguished himself with his unique sound, bravura, and musicianship. In Shenzhen, Sussmann will be joined by pianist Michael Stephen Brown, winner of the 2018 Emerging Artist Award from Lincoln Center and a 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant. With a repertoire embracing the impressionist masterpieces of Debussy, the flamboyant compositions of Ravel, the enchanting melodies of Saint-Saëns, and more.

Elisso Virsaladze piano recital
Counted among the greats of the piano Olympus, Elisso Virsaladze carries the baton of giants of the Russian piano school and combines her extraordinary talent with a musical depth far from any exhibitionism. Sviatoslav Richter touted her as the finest female pianist of her time. In Shenzhen, she will play pieces by Schubert, Brahms, Liszt, and Prokofiev.

Pascal Rogé plays Debussy
Winner of the Georges Enesco piano competition and first prize at the Marguerite Long Piano competition, Pascal Rogé became an exclusive Decca recording artist at the age of 17. His playing of French music is characterized by its elegance, beauty, and stylistically perfect phrasing. In Shenzhen, he will lead us through an evening saturated with a selection of Debussy's finest.

Christian Blackshaw plays Mozart
A deeply passionate and sensitive pianist, Christian Blackshaw is celebrated for the incomparable musicianship of his performances. His playing combines tremendous emotional depth with great understanding. As one of Mozart's leading interpreters, Blackshaw will present Mozart's sonatas No. 7, 11, 15 and 18.

Stephen Kovacevich plays Beethoven
Stephen Kovacevich is widely recognized as one of the most revered pianists of his generation. He has won unsurpassed admiration for his interpretations of the core classical repertoire; his recording of 32 Beethoven Sonatas completed in 2003 is hailed as one of the most authoritative ever published. In Shenzhen, the great U.S. pianist will deliver sublime readings of Beethoven's late period works.
