In the final minutes of daylight, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link stretches across the Pearl River Estuary like a line drawn between sea and sky. The setting sun drops toward the water, spreading a sheet of molten orange across the surface. The link, consisting of 24 kilometers of tunnel, artificial islandsand suspended roadway, catches the last of the light.
