Get ready, snow enthusiasts! Shenzhen's Qianhai Snow World, a snow-themed wonderland, is set to welcome visitors from around the globe on September 29.

On September 16, a reporter from South took an early peek inside this colossal indoor ski resort, which holds the title of the largest of its kind globally. The venue was in the final stages of its pre-opening preparations.

As soon as you step onto the site, a hive of activity greets you. Workers are bustling about, focusing on equipment calibration, safety inspections, and interior finishing touches. Five ski slopes are already covered in a thick layer of fluffy snow, cascading down like magnificent white waterfalls.

The exterior of this "snow kingdom" is equally eye-catching. Drawing inspiration from a "leaping blue whale," the resort features a sleek blue facade paired with transparent glass curtain walls. From a distance, it resembles a colossal blue whale leaping out of the sea.

As a large-scale ice and snow complex in southern China, Qianhai Snow World boasts several "world-firsts." It has the greatest vertical drop of any indoor ski resort globally, the longest single indoor ski slope in the world, and is also the indoor ice and snow venue located at the lowest latitude worldwide.

The project is conveniently located on Nanhuan Road in Shajing, Bao'an District, Shenzhen, with easy access via a well-connected road network. For those using public transportation, visitors can take Shenzhen Metro Line 12 to "Waterlands Resort South Station (海上田园南站)" or Line 20 to "Convention and Exhibition City (会展城站)." After alighting, a short 10-minute walk will get you to the resort. In the future, a dedicated direct shuttle service connecting Hong Kong will be launched, making it possible for visitors to reach the resort from downtown Hong Kong in less than 1.5 hours.
