The inaugural ceremony of the Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) was held at its main campus in Guangming District on Sept. 29. This university is an applied research institution established by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, based on the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Feng Wei, deputy director-general of the Education Department of Guangdong Province, said at the ceremony that SUAT is focused on fundamental and cutting-edge scientific and technological research. The university seeks to cultivate innovative talent, serve the country's strategic emerging industries, promote the integration of industry and education, and contribute to national economic and social development.
