As winter gradually fades away, the call of spring awakens nature, transforming the city of Shenzhen into a wonderland. Streets and parks burst with a riot of colors as trees and flowers begin to bloom.

An intuitive way to embrace the spirit of spring in Shenzhen is by admiring the blossoming greenery. Kapok trees, orchid trees, and trumpet trees stand out as the most popular street trees while bougainvillea, Chinese ixoras, hibiscus, oleander, and Chinese hat plants are commonly seen floral species in parks and urban green spaces.

Several tourist attractions in Shenzhen have become highly sought-after locations for admiring specific species of flowers during spring. You can admire rapeseed flowers at Guanlan Printmaking Village in Longhua District and OCT Farm in Guangming District. Tulips bloom in Dutch Flower Town in Nanshan District while cherry blossoms can be enjoyed at the Sanzhoutian Reservoir in Yantian District and Huaying Road Park in Shekou, Nanshan. For Enkianthus quinqueflorus and Rhododendron moulmainense, head to Wutong Mountain.

Don't hesitate to take a stroll outdoors before the flower season ends, for these natural wonders will definitely liberate you from your post-holiday blues.
