‘Phoenix’ hovers at Futian CBD

A giant “phoenix” hovers in a 3,300-square-meter farmland cultivated by local residents in front of Civic Center in Futian CBD. The image of a phoenix, made out of red, yellow and green sweet potato leaves, was created recently to convey local residents’ determination and confidence for unity. Sweet potato seedlings of different colors and varieties were planted in spring this year, with the three colors of sweet potato leaves making the image of the “phoenix” richer and brighter. The sweet potatoes will be dug out at the end of this month and frontline workers fighting the pandemic will be invited to participate in the harvest and taste the delicious sweet potatoes.
