Spring Festival atmosphere prevails

Red lanterns are seen hanging along Binhe Boulevard in Futian District. Shenzhen has been adorned with red lanterns, national flags and various floral installations to ring in the Spring Festival, the most important festival for Chinese people, which falls on Sunday this year. Some 150,000 red lanterns were raised, dotting nearly 500 roads across the city. Over 24,000 red lanterns of various sizes and more than 180,000 small lanterns strung together were also hung in the city’s parks.
