Shenzhen reported 86 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases yesterday, including 11 asymptomatic infections.
Thirty-eight of the new cases were found among centrally quarantined close contacts of COVID patients reported earlier in the city, nine were detected during screening in key areas and among key groups of people,while the other 39 were found during citywide samplings in communities.
All of the new local patients have been transferred to the emergency wards of the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. They are all in stable condition.
The authorities are tracking all close contacts and secondary close contacts of the patients, and those who have been identified have been placed under centralized quarantine.
Residents are reminded to take good precaution measures including wearing a face mask, washing hands frequently, maintaining good ventilation and observing social distancing.
