Extending Metro services in the city by one hour for Dragon Boat Festival riders, the trains on all lines (except Line 11) will run until midnight Friday and next Monday.
Line 11 will only be extended for 30 minutes, sources from Shenzhen Metro Group said yesterday.
The lines that provide half-way final train services will extend an extra 30 to 40 minutes. The section of Line 1 from Luohu to Qianhaiwan stations, the one from Airport East to Zhuzilin stations, along with Line 11 from Futian to Songgang stations will extend services to 12:40 a.m.
The sections from Shuanglong to Huaxin stations and Fubao to Tangkeng stations on Line 3, the sections from Science Museum to Fenghuangcheng stations and Songgang to Meilin Checkpoint stations on Line 6, the sections from Wenjin to Shenzhen Bay Park stations and Qianhai to Maling stations on Line 9 and the section from Futian Checkpoint to Gankeng stations on Line 10 will extend services to 12:30 a.m., according to the company.
On June 14, the service for sections from Huangbeiling to Changlingpi stations and Chiwan to Changlingpi stations on Line 5 will be extended to 12:30 a.m., for the convenience of returning travelers.
The operators estimate a surge of riders Friday, the last workday before the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, from Saturday to next Monday. The Metro stations near parks, shopping and leisure centers, like Shenzhen Bay Park, Window of the World and Houhai stations, will see heavy passenger flow during the holiday. On the last day of the holiday, stations linking with transport terminals of high-speed trains and the airport will see heavy flow of returning passengers.
The city’s Metro stations saw smooth and orderly passenger flow during rush hour yesterday morning. Starting 8 p.m. Tuesday, Metro riders are required to show green health codes at all Metro stations, when entering the train station.
At Chegongmiao Station, where four Metro lines meet, many morning riders prepared the green health codes prior to the security checks yesterday morning.
According to Shenzhen Metro Group, passengers can search for 粤省事 (yueshengshi) or 深i您 (shenainin) WeChat miniprograms or scan the QR codes posted at the Metro stations to get green health codes.
For seniors or children who have difficulties using mobile phones, they can have their green health codes registered and shown to Metro inspectors by others in their group. They can also print the codes and ride the trains with them while traveling with Metro. The prints should be in color and be printed within seven days of the trip.
Starting 9 a.m. yesterday, all cross-boarder passengers traveling to or returning from Macao through Shekou Cruise Home Port are required to present a negative result of a nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Office of Port of Entry and Exit.
