Entry restrictions further tightened for travelers from HK

Travelers entering Shenzhen from Hong Kong are now required to present a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 24 hours other than previous 72 hours to better ensure the health and safety of all inbound travelers, according to the latest notice released by the Shenzhen Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Prevention and Control Headquarters.


According to the notice, which was released yesterday evening, starting from 10 a.m. tomorrow, travelers entering Shenzhen from Hong Kong via Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint must present a negative nucleic acid test report that is issued within 24 hours other than previous 72 hours by a qualified testing institution recognized by both the Guangdong and the Hong Kong governments and also undergo a 14-day collective medical observation.


For important government functionaries, business people, and cross-border truck drivers who have been approved to be exempt from collective observation, current stipulations shall continue to apply.


An earlier notice released by the headquarters July 16 stipulated that inbound travelers from Hong Kong should present a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 72 hours.


Hong Kong confirmed 85 COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 3,755 (including 3,754 confirmed cases and one suspected case).
