The second China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo) kicked off yesterday in Haikou, South China’s Hainan Province, which will run through Saturday.

A total of 19 Shenzhen enterprises participated in the expo to debut new products and showcase top-notch goods, including Shenzhen State-owned Duty-free Commodities (Group) Co., DJI, Heytea, Purcotton and Honor.

The expo features an exhibition area of 750 square meters for Shenzhen brands, which cover food, tea, wine, daily necessities, clothing, fashion decoration, electronic products, porcelain and watercraft, among other fields.

Shenzhen exhibitors, setting themselves apart from conventional exhibitions, adopted a “Shenzhen Supermarket” format by putting together Shenzhen products on display for buyers to select. They also launched various sales promotions to boost transactions.

This year is the first time Heytea attended the consumer products expo. The Nanshan District-headquartered company, a representative of a new tea drink chain in Guangdong Province, has brought its popular bottled beverages and sippy cups to the expo.

Hainan Expo has also seen many Shenzhen buyers come to the expo seeking for suitable business partners.

An economic and trade exchange meeting will be held by the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau this afternoon in Hainan to help match suppliers and purchasers, as well as promote Shenzhen tech enterprises and their high-quality products.

In another development, the Sixth Drone World Congress 2022, themed “Future of Drone,” wrapped up Sunday at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

During the event, a main conference and over 30 subforums were held online and offline, attracting over 20,000 industry experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from over 200 countries and regions.

As the most important civil drone industrial base worldwide, China is home to over 12,000 drone enterprises. Among them, 1,500 firms are from Shenzhen, which boast an output value of nearly 60 billion yuan (US$8.89 billion), making up 70% of the global market share in consumer drones and 50% in industrial drones.
