Work on Dapeng Railway Station of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway’s Longgang-Dapeng Spur Line officially started Thursday, sources from the district’s development and finance bureau said Saturday.
The station, a two-story underground facility, is located at the northeast of Pingxi Road and Jinsha Boulevard.
The 39.3-kilometer Longgang-Dapeng spur line runs between Longcheng Station in Longgang District and Xinda Station in Dapeng New Area, passing through Longgang CBD, Pingshan CBD, Yanzi Lake area, Kuichong CBD and Xinda area. It has six stations and will cut the trip from Dapeng to Qianhai and Terminal 4 of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to one hour.
The Guangdong Development and Reform Commission approved the Qianhai-Pingdi section of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway earlier in April this year. The 58-kilometer section connects Qianhai Comprehensive Bonded Area and Pingdi Subdistrict in Longgang District, passing by core areas and urban clusters in Nanshan, Longhua and Longgang in Shenzhen and Fenggang in Dongguan.
The section will have 11 stations and is designed with a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
The Huizhou section of the intercity railway has also been listed as one of Guangdong’s preparatory projects for 2022. According to the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) of the Huizhou Municipal Transportation Bureau, construction on the Pingdi-Lilin North section of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway will start in 2023 and the project will be finished in 2026.
The Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway is also scheduled to be put into operation in 2026.
