Starting April 14, international students with the College of International Exchange of Shenzhen University (SZU) who meet health requirements will return to campus to prepare for in-person learning.
The college’s graduating class students will be among the first batch to return to the campus starting April 14, while most other international students (from freshmen to junior years) will be allowed to return to the school starting April 18.
At present, most of the college’s international students are in Shenzhen, with a few still staying outside the city. The back-to-school arrangements and requirements for international students are the same as Chinese students, according to SZU’s College of International Exchange.
According to SZU’s policies, those who are currently in the city are required to undergo nucleic acid tests for three consecutive days ahead of their return date and report their health information via the university’s system. They have to produce a negative 24-hour nucleic acid test result and present a permit issued by the university to enter the campus.
Those living in low-risk areas for COVID-19 can return to the school but have to undergo nucleic acid tests as required and follow corresponding instructions set by the university.
Students in medium- and high-risk regions for COVID, places with local COVID cases, or under quarantine will not be allowed to enter the campus at the moment.
At the same time, international students of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University (SMBU) will continue distance learning as they are in foreign countries.
SMBU’s foreign teachers have been on campus to deliver online lessons under closed-off management since the winter holiday. They are now preparing for in-person learning as Chinese students will return to school in different batches starting Monday, according to SMBU.
