Shenzhen has implemented graded measures to ensure effectiveness and precision in COVID-19 prevention and control, and local CDC experts had called for residents to actively cooperate with the measures and take personal precautions accordingly.

In the fight against this round of COVID-19 resurgence, Shenzhen has designated sealed areas, controlled areas and guarded areas.

Sealed areas refer to places where confirmed cases or asymptomatic cases lived or frequently visited. People in this area are required to quarantine in residential areas and supplies will be delivered to their doors.

Controlled areas refer to places where confirmed cases or asymptomatic cases worked or visited two days prior to the positive test. These places are at certain risk of spreading the virus, and the close and sub-close contacts are hard to trace. In these areas, authorities will implement an entry-only policy and ban gatherings. In principle, one household can arrange one person every two or three days to purchase or pick up supplies at designated places within the area on the condition of taking good precautions.

Guarded areas refer to places where indoor public venues are closed, business hours and scales of restaurants and canteens are put under control. Residents live a normal life but are required to show a negative 48-hour nucleic acid test result to enter. Public venues and transport facilities impose checks on temperatures, health codes and disinfection. People are required to wear masks in public areas.
