Citizens with yellow health codes are urged to complete two nucleic acid tests in three days, where the codes will automatically turn green if results are negative, said a municipal health official Sunday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

According to Feng Tiejian, deputy director of the Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in this round of COVID-19 resurgence, the health codes of citizens who live or move about in designated control areas would turn yellow if they fail to take nucleic acid tests as required.

Those who have red health codes will immediately be transferred to a quarantine hotel or stay at home to quarantine for 14 days. Their health codes would turn green after they complete the stipulated quarantine and the possibility of COVID infection is excluded.

For those whose health codes have turned yellow, they need to receive two nucleic tests in three days.

Yellow health code holders who live and move about outside the designated control areas are advised to go to medical institutions or qualified third-party testing agencies to carry out nucleic acid testing.

Feng reminded that yellow health code holders should conduct personal health monitoring, reduce contact with others, and avoid traveling out of town and going to crowded public places.
