The Shenzhen Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone Hospital and the quarantine hotel it is responsible for recently received a special and warm-hearted New Year gift — an album titled “Giving” performed and recorded by Tu Jiming, a 12th grader from Vanke Meisha Arts Academy.

Tu Jiming, a young violinist, spent a year meticulously preparing this special album, which includes famous works by Beethoven, Paganini, Bach and Mendelssohn.

According to Tu, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical workers have been under a lot of stress, working long hours, and even being depressed.

As a result, when choosing music for his album, Tu paid attention to the variety and richness of musical styles, which can be seen in both bold and unrestrained, and relaxed and elegant atmospheres in his record.

The quarantine hotel’s medical staff were moved and grateful after receiving copies of Tu’s CDs.

After listening to the CD, Zeng Li, vice president of the hospital, said that the album is very suitable for medical staff working in high-intensity environments and for those under quarantine who are anxious, depressed or nervous.

According to Zeng, Tu’s melodic renditions not only makes people feel happy, but also conveys warmth, which make medical workers and people quarantined in the hotel feel a different kind of care.

Tu was inspired by seeing his doctor father devote himself to the fight against the pandemic since it broke out in 2020, working until late at night.

He was also moved when his father told him about medical staff working with bravery and dedication in the face of the pandemic and felt sympathetic toward those in the quarantine hotel, he thought of doing something to help those in need.

Tu decided to help by playing the violin to help people relieve their stress, reduce anxiety, relax for a moment and narrow the social distance between people’s hearts.

“The album implies that in this special period when the pandemic situation is still severe, the power against it will be incomparably strong as long as everyone does something about it,” Tu explained.
