Shekou Cruise Homeport opened a new route to tour around Hong Kong’s Lantau Island on Sunday, offering a new option under the “See GBA from Sea” program.

The route is the fourth one following Shenzhen Bay, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Qianhai Bay routes operated by China Merchants Shekou International Cruise Homeport Co. Ltd.

The new trip lasts for four hours, and tourists can see 10 tourism sites such as Neilingding Island, Hong Kong International Airport, Tsing Ma Bridge, Victoria Harbor, Cheung Chau Island, the Big Buddha, Lantau Peak, White Dolphin Nature Reserve, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link’s east and west artificial bridge.

One of the sites, Tsing Ma Bridge, is the world’s longest-spanning suspension bridge carrying both road and rail traffic. The bridge’s center span is 1,377 meters and crosses the marine channel between Ma Wan and Tsing Yi.

Victoria Harbor, a deep-sea harbor located between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula, is arguably Hong Kong’s most recognizable attraction. At night, the Hong Kong skyline along the coast of Victoria Harbor is a stunning sight, with brightly lit skyscrapers and fireworks illuminating the sky.

During the tour, travelers can enjoy on-deck performances such as Peking and Cantonese operas, lion dancing, magic and music shows.

On the tour’s inauguration day, well-known Peking Opera artists Wang Hongguang and Zhou Hongwu brought martial arts and face-changing performances.
