An online job fair for college graduates kicked off recently in Shenzhen, where this year’s graduates from across the country can search for open positions in companies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) until the end of this month.
The event, held by the city’s human resources and social security bureau, has built a virtual platform matching companies and fresh university graduates, and provides free career guidance services.
As of now, 800 representative high-tech corporations, and renowned enterprises in the finance, semiconductor, biomedical, new energy, communication engineering and modern services industries have participated in the event to find their ideal candidates. The companies include Amer International Group, Shenzhen Water Group, CR Land, Ping An Bank, China Merchants Securities, SF Express and Transsion.
The fair has nearly 4,000 positions on offer, among which 500 are high-end jobs with the highest annual salary reaching 800,000 yuan (US$125,417). In terms of educational requirements, 70 percent of the posts require a bachelor’s degree while those that require a master’s or doctoral degree make up 10 percent.
Jobs in the finance, software development and marketing sectors, as well as management trainee positions top the list for applicants’ dream jobs. The platform had received some 15,000 resumes and 100,000 hits at press time yesterday.
Prior to the job fair, the organizers had promoted the event in over 120 universities and sent invitations to more than 20,000 eligible graduates via text messages and emails.
