Shenzhen North Railway Station will operate an additional 26 pairs of high-speed trains to handle the travel surge during the National Day holiday.
The trains include two pairs of direct trains — G4313/6 and G4315/4 between Guangzhou and Fuzhou, and G4598/5 and G4596/7 between Shenzhen and Beihai — as well as 24 pairs of trains between Shenzhen and Guangzhou, Zhanjiang, Changsha, Yueyang, Chaoshan and Shantou, according to a release of Shenzhen North Railway Station.
Shenzhen Railway Station and Shenzhen East Railway Station will add 10 pairs of regular trains between Shenzhen and Jiujiang, Nanchang, Zhanjiang, Shaoguan, Changsha and Yueyang.
The railway operator expects to handle 4.06 million passenger trips between Sept. 28 and Oct. 8, or a daily average of 369,000.
The peak will arrive tomorrow, the National Day, when 490,000 passenger trips will be handled, sources from Shenzhen North Railway Station said yesterday.
