The planned Qingshuihui Transportation Hub in northern Luohu has been positioned as a core transportation hub in urban Shenzhen, offering high-speed rail, intercity rail and urban Metro services.

In an updated progress report of the project, Shenzhen rail construction headquarters office said the hub will integrate Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail, Shenzhen-Shenshan Intercity Rail, Metro Line 14, which is under construction, and Metro Lines 17 and 25, which are under planning.

The 129-kilometer Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail between downtown Shenzhen and Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone will have six railway stations: Xili, Luohu North (Qingshuihe High-speed Railway Station) and Pingshan stations in Shenzhen, Huizhou South and Huidong stations in Huizhou and Shenshan Station in the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, according to Shenzhen Metro Group. The rail is designed with top speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Work on the high-speed rail has begun in January this year and will be completed by 2025.

The Shenzhen-Shenshan Intercity Rail, which is under planning, is designed with top speed of 300 kilometers per hour. The rail will run 55 kilometers in Shenzhen, 57 kilometers in Huizhou and 17 kilometers in Shenshan. It will link up with the Guangzhou-Shanwei Railway at Shenshan Station.

According to the Qingshuihe Transportation hub design, the Qingshuihe High-speed Railway Station will be a four-story underground station, whose two platforms will be shared by high-speed railways and intercity railways. Passengers of Metro Lines 14 and 17 will be able to interchange on the same Metro platform in the hub. Line 25 will run on the west of Lines 14 and 17.

The rail construction office is now optimizing the winning design for Qinghuihe Transportion Hub, which is located in Dawutong Belt of Emerging Industries, the most important industrial headquarters and incubator of strategic and emerging industries in Luohu District.

Bordering Sungang Business Area in the south and Buji New Town in the north, the construction of the transportation hub will improve the competitiveness in the city’s east.

The Sungang-Qingshuihe area is one of Shenzhen’s 18 key development areas and an important section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao science and technology innovation corridor.
