Shenzhen's 169 enterprises are expected to open 748 internship positions exclusively for young people from Taiwan during the summer vacation, with 266 of them having the potential of leading to a full-time job position, according to 2021 Taiwan Youth Internship in Shenzhen Meeting on Monday.
This year’s one-month internship program will start from July 13 and run through Aug. 13.
Internship seekers can now register for the program via the “Smart Taiwan Association” (“智慧台协”) system, a platform where jobseekers can find internship-related information.
Taiwan’s young people, who plan to have their practical training in Shenzhen, will enjoy the same benefits as their mainland counterparts.
The internship program offers high-quality positions in sectors, including technology, finance and cultural and creative design, which accounts for 20 percent, 11 percent and 7 percent, of all available positions, respectively.
These positions also come from prestigious Fortune Global 500 companies, such as Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, China Merchants Bank Co. Ltd. and China Life Insurance Co. Ltd.
Taiwan Merchant Association Shenzhen has been organizing internship activities in Shenzhen for young people from Taiwan since 2017.
The association also organized various other activities, including visits to Tencent and other well-known companies in Shenzhen and Shenzhen Reform and Opening-up Exhibition Hall, and holding the Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sharing Meetings.
