Bao’an District will use 3D printing technology to construct a public square including sculptures, public seats and flower beds.

The project, located at Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center in Bao’an, will cover 5,523.3 square meters.

China MCC20 Group and CISDI Group cooperated with Tsinghua University’s Xu Weiguo’s team to use its independently developed 3D cement concrete printing technology.

The 3D-printed facilities such as sculptures and flower beds can reduce material, mold costs and labor costs.

According to Xu, the project will become the world’s first square built by 3D printing technology upon its completion.
