Longhua District announced the opening of eight new parks in its six subdistricts Monday, the Daily Sunshine reported.
The eight new parks are Shijing Park in Fucheng Subdistrict, Qiankenglaocun Bamboo Park, Shedikeng Park in Guanhu Subdistrict, Jiexin Park on Xinqu Boulevard, Yulong Park in Minzhi Subdistrict, Yousong Binshui Park in Longhua Subdistrict, Dalang Longping Park in Dalang Subdistrict, and Fengsheng Market Park in Guanlan Subdistrict.
The parks’ roads were paved mainly with white and grey granite and permeable concrete while the walking lanes were made with porous asphalt.
Plant varieties chosen to be used in the parks include flame tree, bamboo and jacaranda.
So far, Longhua District has a total of 150 parks. Its greenways extend 269 kilometers in total, with green coverage at 43.25 percent, according to the report.
