The city’s Fire Safety Week was launched Monday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
A series of activities, including the selection of the “most beautiful firefighters,” educational events on spreading knowledge about drones and fire drills, were held.
It is reported that the selection of the “most beautiful firefighters” was aimed to further improve the public’s awareness of fire safety and increase citizens’ abilities to prevent fire risks.
The selection includes awards for both groups and individuals who have been actively participating in the protection of the general public.
A video was played at the launch ceremony to introduce results achieved by Shenzhen fire officers.
High-tech fire equipment was exhibited at two venues, in Futian and Songgang in Bao’an, which attracted citizens’ attention.
Monday also marked the 29th National Fire Safety Day. A special light show was held Monday night as a tribute to firefighters.
Images of the 10 leading firefighters were put up on LED screens across the city.
