The main structure of DJI Sky City, DJI’s global headquarters in Liuxiandong in Nanshan District, was recently completed.
A ceremony was held Sept. 2 to seal the roof of Sky City’s main structure, signifying the creation of another landmark in Nanshan District, according to Shekou News.
The building, as DJI’s global base, covers an area of 241,700 square meters.
It was designed by renowned team Foster+Partners and constructed by the Fourth Bureau of China State Construction Co.
Its west tower rises to 193.1 meters (43 floors) while its east tower goes up to 211.6 meters (47 floors), according to the report.
The building’s unique structure increased the complexity of the construction, which necessitated the use of advanced methods, for instance, using drones and VR glasses to monitor construction safety and enhance quality control.
After completion, it will have four functional areas: headquarters for the drone company, research and development innovation, operation services and comprehensive supporting services.
