New attraction renovated from ancient village

A bird’s-eye view of Shayuchong, a new tourist destination created from an ancient village, at the mouth of Kuichong River in Dapeng New Area. The city government has invested 50 million yuan (US$7.16 million) to rebuild the roads, river bank and museum in the village, and renovate the residential buildings into B&Bs, restaurants, bars and small shopping malls. An increasing number of visitors are attracted to this village with natural views of mountains and the sea.
