The development plan for the Yanzi Lake area, one of the most dynamic areas in Pingshan District, has been revealed, sznews.com reported Wednesday.

The Yanzi Lake area enjoys a beautiful natural environment and superior ecological resources, with the Yanziling Park located in the northwest of the area and Pingshan River running through it from east to west.

The design scheme emphasizes people’s perception and experience of natural landscapes such as mountains, rivers and lakes, in a bid to create an urban space that perfectly integrates such natural elements with the city.

Shenzhen Nature Museum, located on the bank of Yanzi Lake, will be the first comprehensive nature museum in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

After completion, the museum will become an important window for the display of public culture and urban civilization of Shenzhen, a key public building in the city, and an integral part of public spaces on the bank of Yanzi Lake.

The external spaces of various public cultural venues around the lake and other landscapes on the axis of the area will be connected through various transportation modes to further enhance public participation, according to the plan.

The urban design of the area also pays special attention to retaining the memory of traditional Hakka houses and villages, while introducing the concept of modern city management.
