Children under 12 who violate the age limit to ride bicycles will be reported to their schools, according to an announcement of Shenzhen traffic police department on traffic safety during the summer vacation.

On roads, students are not allowed to rollerskate or skateboard, drive motorcycles or ride bikes. Police will register violations by students under age 12 who ride bikes and those under age 16 who ride e-bikes, and violations of not wearing helmets while riding e-bikes. They will send the information to the district education departments and their schools.

For holiday safety, traffic police will tighten safety measures at key areas especially eastern tourist attractions, amusement parks and public parks.

Online and on-site activities and training will be held to highlight the need for safety in parking lots.

Property managements will give out brochures or display posters at prominent places in parking lots to remind parents and children. For those vehicles that occupy more than one parking space or block others by parking in firefighting lanes, entrances or exits, police will impose punishments if the driver does not remove his car in a timely fashion.

Between July 12 and Aug. 31, police will tighten checks on tourist buses, illegal passenger services and violations like overloading, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, or poorly maintained vehicles that fail safety standards.
