Work on Longgang No. 2 Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, located in Bantian Subdistrict in Longgang District, is expected to start in December this year, according to Longgang’s health bureau.

The project is said to be Longgang’s second traditional Chinese medicine hospital that provides both medical and nursing services, after Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Shenzhen Hospital.

Covering 41,855 square meters, the hospital, will provide 500 beds for medical use and another 500 beds for nursing purposes, according to Shenzhen Evening News.

The hospital is designed as a comprehensive top-class traditional Chinese medicine hospital, specializing in acupuncture, massage, rehabilitation and the preventative treatment of disease.

The design of the hospital shows an inclusion of natural scenery to the hospital area. In addition, ancient Chinese construction elements will be used.

Nursing services will be available in the hospital for the elderly living in western Longgang (including Bantian, Jihua, Buji and Nanwan subdistricts) and for those that need help to take care of themselves.

At the same time, traffic construction in the surrounding areas is going well in preparation for the hospital’s construction.

Shenzhen People’s Hospital Bantian branch is scheduled to be put into use in August. Shenzhen Jihua Hospital is also under construction.

By 2025, a total of 4,128 beds will be available in hospitals located in Bantian Subdistrict, 7.6 times the number of beds available in 2019, according to the report.
